The Shofar is made of natural Kudu horn. When wrapped, this shofar produces a high-pitched, whining sound. According to the Halakhah, the shofar is played with the trumpet during a divine service in the synagogue on Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) and Yom Kippur (Judgment Day, or Day of Atonement). The Shofar have always been an important part of biblical history and denote the military victory of the Jews.
